
The “Vietnamese Economist Annual Meeting - VEAM 2009” in Hanoi organized by DEPOCEN, Foreign Trade University, French National Center for Scientific Research, Nyenrode Business University, and the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asia Studies (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), November 2009.
The second time “Vietnamese Economist Annual Meeting - VEAM 2009” organized in November 25th and 26th, 2009 at Foreign Trade University has hosted a large number of participants.
The Opening speech was delivered by Prof., Dr. Chau Hoang Van, President of FTU and Prof. Cuong Le Van, Director of Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne (CES), Paris, France.
On this occasion, Prof. Chau Hoang Van and Prof. Cuong Le Cuong have awarded DEPOCEN prizes for FTU’s excellent students in the research competition. This competition has been encouraging students’ interest in doing research and to be more creative in their study. Congratulations for all winners and those who participated in this competition.
VEAM has collected a range of papers of good quality from both international and Vietnamese professors, PhD students, masters, lecturers and researchers who are studying and working in Vietnam and abroad. Selected speakers presented interesting topics related to different aspects of economy such as global crisis, international asset market, migration, e-government etc (see workshop program).
The speakers and participants were discussing actively on specific topics, sharing experience and knowledge toward the better and deeper understanding of variety of social and economic issues that have been occurring in Vietnam and in the world. Through the VEAM, a network of international and Vietnamese researchers has been expanded and given a great forum to those, who are interested in doing research.
