Under the umbrella of policies research agenda of the Economics Committee, the National Assembly of Vietnam in the morning October 8, 2009, the Standing Committee on the Economy, in cooperation with the Development and Policies Research Center (DEPOCEN), organized a workshop called “Forecasting the World Economy and Other Issues in Vietnam’s Economy,” presented by Mr. Charles Burton, Director of Oxford Economics (the UK) at International Convention Center, 11 Le Hong Phong str., Hanoi, Vietnam. The workshop has attracted the attention of the members of various Committees under the National Assembly of Vietnam, representatives from Universities, Research Centers and Government agencies.
Oxford Economics presenter shares the viewpoints on the prospects for the global economy. The deep analysis was discussed among the floor toward understanding of which countries could be seriously affected by the financial global crisis and their recovery prospect. The undermining factors that make the countries suffered most during the downturn, the issues related to the economic recovery, the risks to the economic outlook and the lessons learnt from the downturn are also discussed.
