Abstract:
In the context of the slowdown world economy, Vietnamese government plans to launch a USD 6 trillion stimulus package to boost investment and consumption. Within this paper, we focus on addressing three questions:
(i) the importance of the stimulus package – why do we need to stimulate demand in current situation?;
(ii) how to implement stimulus package – stimulus principles assuring effectiveness of stimulus package; and
(iii) where is destination of stimulus package – basing on some countries’ experience.
We also recommend some policies for stimulus package of Vietnamese government reckoning on stimulus principle as well as practical experience from countries in the region and over the world
