Alumni

Ngoc Pham Quang, as one of the first members of DEPOCEN, Ngoc was an economist who showed potential, creativity. He contributed many ideas and was a leading expert on model input-output. During his time at DEPOCEN, Ngoc worked as a research director (January 2006 to July 2009). Ngoc and his colleagues conducted many scientific studies which have been published in international journals. He has participated in many international scientific conferences, as well as the implementation of scientific reports for local and international organizations. Ngoc is currently working for the Asia Development Bank (ADB) in Vietnam.

 

Trung Le Dang, he is one of the most talented young economists of Vietnam. Trung has had many research papers published in international journals in the field of economics. DEPOCEN is pleased to have collaborated with him on many research projects and social surveys in Vietnam (2007). Currently, he is a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. During his time at DEPOCEN, Trung was one of the founders of the Training Center at DEPOCEN (DEPOCEN Training Series).

 

 

Ly Nguyen Ha, she employed at DEPOCEN from 2007 to 2008. She was very active and enthusiastic in her work. Ly was the first co-coordinator of the Training Center at DEPOCEN and of DEPOCEN’s electronic journal – DEPOCENWP (DEPOCEN Working Paper Series).

Research Interests and experience includes: international trade, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and poverty reduction.

Diep Pham Bich works as an Project Assistant at DEPOCEN.

Ha Ngo Thi Thu works as an Project Assistant at DEPOCEN. Her main responsibility is to support economic research activities such as collecting documents, translating documents and writing economic reports.

Ngan Le Thi works as an Assistant Researcher at Development and Policies Research Center.


Programmer and Network Management

Loi Nguyen Hong has experience in .NET, VB.NET, C # programming and a good understanding of computer hardware. Moreover, Loi is good at network administration as well.

Designing data entry form, data entry, conducting data entry, and analyzing data in project “Management Situation and Activities of schools and education centre which have foreign factors”, funded by Ministry of Education and Training, 2010.

He was administrator of four company's websites: depocen.org; depocenwp.org; veam.org and forum.depocen.com.

Anh Vu Van is a research assistant and HR manager of DEPOCEN. Her areas of expertise are on qualitative research and impact evaluation

Many aspects of economics and public policy interest Kirby. She has recently contributed to projects in the areas of natural resource management and social policy and has previously enjoyed working on development economics issues.

Internship at DEPOCEN

BRITTANY SIMON, she is twenty years old and she grew up in New Jersey. Currently, she is a full time student at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. she is a double major in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. She chose to study abroad in Vietnam in the fall to gain knowledge about a way of life. She had the chance to take Vietnamese language classes, to have an internship at DEPOCEN, and to explore Vietnamese life and culture. While working at DEPOCEN, she did research for several papers, edited documents, and contributed new initiatives to the center.

 

 

EVAN RYAN, he is a mathematics major and economics minor at Union College in Schenectady, New York. He is from Troy, New York. He came to Vietnam as part of a study abroad program in the fall of 2009. During his time at DEPOCEN, he contributed to the team by assisting in the research for papers put out by DEPOCEN and assisting the staff in English.

 

 

 

SHANNON O'NEILL, her hometown is Trumbull, CT USA. She attends Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York where she majors in Public Policy Studies and minor in Biology. She studied abroad in Vietnam to learn Vietnamese and photography, to have an internship at DEPOCEN. Her hobbies are running, basketball, and reading.

 

 

 

DAN NAULT is currently an undergraduate student at Union College in Schenectady NY.He is working towards a degree in history and political science and is primarily focusing his studies in 20th century USA history. Dan is in Vietnam on a school sponsored term abroad program and is excited to work closely with DEPOCEN at their office in Hanoi before returning to the USA in December.

 

 

 

MARY POSMAN, a third year undergraduate student from William Smith College. She is working towards a degree in History and Public Policy, with a focus on modern world history and international relations. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with DEPOCEN on her term abroad in Vietnam and looks forward to learning more about Vietnam’s recent economic growth and development.
